He will once again be at the helm of the show "Face aux Territoires" on TV5 Monde at the start of the school year: Cyril Viguier's secrets

What will happen to the show "Face aux Territoires" on TV5 Monde this fall?
News channels and social media often express opinions or expert analyses without perspective. Our role is different. We must provide "guidelines" for understanding through questioning guest personalities, taking into account people's feelings. "Face aux Territoires," which is about to begin its fifth season, is a unique show in the landscape, in terms of its audiences, its exposure both regionally and internationally, on television and digitally.
Which guests are you thinking of for next season?
We're interested in everyone in the news, with a particular focus on those who are trying to find solutions to the multiple crises we're experiencing. In the fall, we'll be welcoming Prime Minister François Bayrou to confront him with the reality of the region.
What do your regional daily press partners, including the Nice-Matin group, bring to the show?
It's a virtuous "sacred alliance" between media groups that produce the show together. These titles maintain legitimacy and credibility in the eyes of the public. This is a precious asset in the face of the surge of artificial intelligence used to fuel "fake news."
Does television broadcasting have a future?
The digital replay of excerpts from "Face aux Territoires" in all partner titles makes it an innovative example of a program with a global media format and diverse audiences. This is the key to today's broadcasting, the one that succeeds and the one I enjoy doing!
Will the 2025-2026 season be focused on municipal elections?
Yes. Our two programs, the live political broadcast "Face aux Territoires" (Thursdays at 9:30 a.m., Editor's note) and "Le Grand JT des Territoires," based on reports produced by local TV and regional media, are a unique asset for addressing this first local election before the presidential election.
You remained very close to Alain Delon until his death almost a year ago, on August 18, 2024. He gave you his last major interview (1) . What does this anniversary inspire in you?
Alain was always thinking about the "next move!" It fascinated me! When he undertook something, he was already thinking beyond it, about what would come next. That's what gave him such a life, such a career. In one of our last conversations, a few days before his death, as his strength was failing him, he grabbed my arm and said in a whisper: "I want to live!" It's the complete opposite of everything he was said to say and think. He was multifaceted, and sometimes contradictory, but that was his great strength! I want to remember all of that from him and draw inspiration from it.
What was he concerned about at the end of his life?
He stayed connected to the world and read the newspapers every day. He wanted to create his foundation. Current events fascinated him and also saddened him. "Trump, let him go back to playing golf!" he would say. He had great admiration for Joe Biden, his life, his career, the dramas from which he had recovered to ultimately become President of the United States.
And in France?
Brigitte Bardot was truly his dearest friend. He adored her, he talked to me about her all the time, about their time when they were at the height of their respective lives. They had, of course, a shared passion for animals, but it went far beyond that. In the 1960s, they had the same "iconic status." They had the same reflexes and understood each other without speaking. I witnessed their last exchange. It was incredible, this sometimes silent dialogue in which they understood each other better than anyone! One of the last recommendations he made to me was to stay in touch with her. "Help her, put your energy into her fight." "She is a pure woman," he told me! I love her very much and I want to help her today in her fight to ban hunting with hounds, a barbaric cultural practice, and to counter the scandal of horse meat consumption in our country.
Do you listen to or watch those who talk about him in the media today?
Alain often wished I would film him, to monitor what he was thinking. I have an inexhaustible source of videos of him and "Delonian" comments on everything and everyone. But as you may have noticed, I haven't posted anything on social media. And believe me, that will never happen...
